For hair salons and independent stylists

The appointment book your salon deserves

For hair salons running the day out of a paper diary and a WhatsApp thread. Clients pick a service and a chair time online, pay when they book, and their colour history is on a record you can open mid-consultation.

Free plan, no card and no call. One flat monthly price when you upgrade, zero commission on payments, cancel yourself in the app.

    Who this is for

Written for the way hair salons actually run

    • A salon with one to five chairs where the owner still cuts hair
    • Independent stylists renting a chair inside someone else's salon
    • Salons losing Saturday slots to no-shows who booked over the phone
    • Owners tired of being the only person who knows the diary

    What operate1 replaces

A booking tool, a payment link, a client spreadsheet and a reminders routine, folded into one account at one flat monthly price.

Zero commission on every plan. You connect your own payment account and the money settles to you; we charge the subscription and nothing else.

Three things that go wrong every week

Saturday is fully booked by Tuesday, then two clients do not turn up and the chairs sit empty during the one window everyone wants.

Payment is taken when the slot is booked, not when the client arrives. A published cancellation window and fee means a Saturday no-show is no longer free for the client and no longer a dead chair for you.

The colour formula from last visit lives in a stylist's head or a notebook page. When that stylist is off, the client repeats the whole consultation.

Every visit sits on the client's record with your notes attached. Formula, developer volume, allergy flag, how short they actually meant. Anyone on the team can open it before the client is in the chair.

The phone rings during a cut. Someone gloved-up has to stop, find the diary, negotiate a time and remember to write it down.

The booking page is the receptionist. Services, durations and real availability are online, so the client books the 4 pm blow-dry themselves while you finish the foils.

    How it works

    How a booking runs here

    1. The client finds your page

Your services with duration and price at operate1.com/p/your-salon, or on your own domain on Pro. A cut is 45 minutes, a global colour blocks two hours. The page knows the difference.

    2. They pick a time that is actually free

Availability comes from your real working hours and existing bookings, with buffers so a colour cannot be booked over a cut that always runs long.

    3. They pay to hold the chair

UPI, card or net banking through your own Razorpay account, international cards through Stripe. The slot confirms when the money clears.

    4. Reminders go out, the record fills in

Email reminders at 24 hours and 2 hours cut the forgot-about-it no-shows. The visit, the payment and your notes land on the client's record.

What you get on day one

    Services with honest durations

A trim, a global colour and a keratin treatment are different lengths and prices. Each is its own bookable service with its own slot size.

    Paid before they sit down

UPI, cards and net banking at booking. The money settles to your own account and a no-show stops being a free cancellation.

    Colour history on the record

Formulas, patch-test notes and every past visit against the client, readable by whoever is behind the chair today.

    Cancellation window with a fee

Set the window in hours and the fee as a percentage once. It is published on the page and applied without an awkward phone call.

    A salon page you own

Services, prices, hours and your booking link on a hosted page, with your own domain on Pro. No web developer required.

    Every stylist, one price

Add the whole team without per-seat charges. Each stylist has their own services and their own bookable hours.

    Not built yet, named plainly

Things salons ask us for that are not built yet. We would rather you read this here than discover it in week two.

    • WhatsApp reminders and confirmations. Reminders are email today; WhatsApp delivery is on the roadmap.
    • A visual chair or station view of the day. Today each stylist has their own calendar and booking link.
    • Product and retail sales at the counter. operate1 handles service bookings, not point of sale.
    • Memberships and recurring billing. Packages today are prepaid bundles, not auto-renewing plans.

    Questions hair salons ask us

Can clients book a specific stylist?

Yes. Each team member has their own services and availability, so a client can book their usual stylist directly, and the whole team is included in one flat price.

What happens when a client cancels two hours before a Saturday slot?

Whatever you decided in advance. You publish a cancellation window and a fee percentage on the booking page, and it is applied to the paid booking automatically when the cancellation lands inside the window.

Do you take a commission on payments?

No. operate1 takes zero commission on every plan. You connect your own Razorpay or Stripe account, the client pays through it, and you pay only the gateway's own processing fee.

    Can I keep taking walk-ins?

Yes. The booking page fills the diary in advance; walk-ins take whatever gaps remain. You can also add a walk-in as a booking on the spot so their visit still lands on a record.

    Take the next booking properly

Built for hair salons and independent stylists. The free plan needs no card and no call. Put your services on a page tonight and decide in the morning.
